Who Am I?

Biography

Margo Trousdale was born and raised in Southern California where she grew up in a family of seven and experienced a rich and diverse childhood. She currently resides in Georgia with her husband of nine years and her dog Olive. Margo took a five-year break from her education to support her family. Her work has been displayed in the ZMA New Visions exhibition in 2019, 2020, 2023 as well as the M2R Traveling Fence Gallery in 2021, and 2022.

Artist Statement

My work tends to be based on a mood or feeling I have been working through. I like to investigate these emotions by combining classical techniques and style with imaginative realism. I’m interested in finding a connection between realistic events that shape our lives and the subconscious; how our brains processes and respond to those events. I am aiming to visually express the endurance of pain or hardship instead of suffering in silence.

I work with both oil paint and digital media. I aspire to merge the expressive qualities of oil into my digital paintings to create meaningful and dynamic images. I want to be able to create art that resonates with people; to be able to connect with others in a way that is impactful.
